Itinerary
Day 1 Cusco – Chinchero – Misminay Community – Maras – Moray – Urubamba
Early in the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco and drive for approximately one hour to Chinchero, enjoying spectacular views of the Andean landscapes along the way. Here, you will visit a traditional textile center to discover ancestral weaving techniques, natural dyeing methods, and the rich cultural heritage of the local communities.
We will then continue to the Misminay community, where you will be welcomed with traditional Andean hospitality. During your visit, you will learn about local customs, ancestral medicine, and the community’s deep connection with nature.
You will also participate in a traditional Andean cooking class, where you will discover the secrets of local gastronomy and learn how to prepare dishes using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. The experience will conclude with a delicious Andean lunch featuring traditional recipes and cooking methods.
After sharing a delicious, home-cooked lunch, we will head to Moray, an impressive archaeological site renowned for its circular Inca terraces. You will learn about their agricultural significance and the Incas’ remarkable knowledge of cultivation and microclimates.
Next, we will travel for approximately 30 minutes to the Maras Salt Mines, where you will explore thousands of salt pools cascading down the mountainside and learn about the ancient salt-harvesting techniques that local families continue to preserve today.
Finally, we will drive to Urubamba, where you will check in at your accommodation and enjoy a relaxing evening at leisure in the heart of the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
Day 2 Urubamba – Machu Picchu – Cusco.
After breakfast, we will transfer you to the train station, where you will board the train to Aguas Calientes. Enjoy the scenic journey through the Sacred Valley, surrounded by lush landscapes, towering mountains, and breathtaking views along the way.
Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, you will meet your professional guide and board the shuttle bus for an approximately 30-minute ride to Machu Picchu (2,430 m / 7,972 ft), one of the most iconic archaeological sites in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Once inside the ancient Inca citadel, you will enjoy a 2- to 3-hour guided tour, exploring its remarkable temples, ceremonial plazas, agricultural terraces, and impressive stone architecture. Along the way, your guide will share fascinating insights into the history, engineering, and cultural significance of this extraordinary sanctuary.
Our preferred option is Circuit 2, subject to availability, as it offers one of the most comprehensive routes for discovering Machu Picchu’s main highlights. If Circuit 2 is unavailable for your selected date and entry time, we will arrange the best available alternative, typically Circuit 1 or Circuit 3, depending on availability and the applicable entrance ticket options.
After your guided visit, you will take the shuttle bus back to Aguas Calientes, where you will have free time to enjoy lunch at a local restaurant or explore the town at your own pace before boarding your return train.
Upon arrival at the train station, our transportation team will meet you and transfer you back to Cusco, a journey of approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. You will then be dropped off at your hotel.
