These trip itineraries are designed for those visitors who choose to spend their first few days at a lower altitude in the charming town of Ollantaytambo or Urubamba in the Sacred Valley. instead of Cusco, and will help them acclimate better. Experience their rich history , breathtaking andean landscapes and vibrant culture. You will explore impressive Inca Sites like Pisac, Maras, Moray , Salt mines, alpaca farms and visit colorful local markets. From the sacred valley it will be easy to travel and  connect to the lost city of the Incas “Machu Picchu “.

Itinerary

Day 1 Urubamba – Salt Mines - Maras - Moray - Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes

After breakfast, we will pick you up from your hotel at 8:00 am to start the Sacred Valley tour from Urubamba (2,872 m / 9,422 ft). We will drive through Maras town which has an interesting mix of Inca and colonial influence. Arriving in Moray, we will explore this agricultural experimental center used by the Incas. We continue the journey toward the Salt mines of Maras (3000 m / 9,843 ft), where locals continue traditional salt harvesting methods.

After enjoying a guided tour of Maras Salt Mines and Moray, we will return to the Urubamba town to enjoy lunch.

Following lunch, we will have a short drive to Ollantaytambo, where we will visit the archaeological site, an example of Incan architecture and its picturesque town with very well-preserved streets from the Incan times.

At the end of the tour in the afternoon, we will drop you off at the train station, where you will board the train to Aguas Calientes town (2,040 m /6,693 ft). You will spend the night in a comfortable hotel.

Day 2 Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu Tour – Urubamba

Early in the morning we will pick you up from your hotel and board the first buses up to Machu Picchu (2,430 m / 7,972 ft.). This means we will get to enjoy the complex with fewer crowds. Here you will have a guided tour of all the most important sites of the Machu Picchu Citadel. These include the House of the Guardian, the Intihuatana, the Temple of the Sun, the Sacred Plaza, and other interesting sites, which takes about two hours and half, followed by free time to explore the citadel on your own.

After your visit, you will take the bus down to Aguas Calientes, where you can enjoy your lunch in one of the many restaurants. Then, you will board the train back to Ollantaytambo. Upon your arrival at the train station, we will be there to pick you up and transfer you back to your hotel in Urubamba.

Day 3 Urubamba – Pisac Ruins – Alpaca Farm – Sacsayhuaman - Cusco

After being collected from your hotel at 9:00 am, we will drive through the heart of the enchanting Sacred Valley over one hour to our first stop, Pisac Archaeological site (3,440 m /11,286 ft), located at top the town that offers stunning views of the surrounding valley and then see the impressive farming terraces, ancient tombs on steep slopes, temples, and aqueducts. Afterward, we will descend to Pisac town (2,970 m/ 9,744 ft) for lunch in a local restaurant.

Before we get to the Sacsayhuaman Fortress (3,700 m / 12,139 ft), we will stop to visit the weaving center to observe llamas and alpacas farms.

Finally, we will visit Sacsayhuaman, a massive Inca fortress, made up of massive stone walls that were built without the use of mortar by the Incas during the late 15th century; and one of the most impressive examples of Inca stonework and engineering.

At the end of the tour, we will drop you off at your hotel in Cusco (3,400 m / 11,155 ft). Arriving at approximately 6:00 pm.
