Itinerary
Day 1 Sacred Valley – Maras – Moray – Ollantaytambo town
Early in the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel and begin our journey to the sacred valley. The tour will start in Chinchero, a picturesque village, where you will see its ancient walls and ruins, as well as you will enjoy the traditional handmade weaving demonstration of textiles by local women. The next place will be Moray, the fascinating Inca agricultural laboratory with its concentric circular terraces that created different microclimates.
We continue to the Maras Salt Mines, an impressive landscape of over 5,000 salt pools on the mountain slopes, used since pre-Inca times. At noon, you will enjoy a delicious buffet lunch at a restaurant in the Sacred Valley.
Our last stop is Ollantaytambo (2,272 m/ 9,160 ft), a beautiful Inca town known for its ancient streets, canals, impressive fortress, and agricultural terraces. Tonight, you will stay in a comfortable hotel in Ollantaytambo, ready to start Inca Trail adventure the next day.
Day 2 Cusco | Km 104 – Chachabamba – Wiñay Wanya – Sun Gate (Inti Punku) – Machu Picchu – Aguas Calientes
We begin our journey early with a scenic train ride to km 104 (Chachabamba), the starting point of the Short Inca Trail.
The hike leads you past amazing Inca sites, such as Wiñay Wayna (2,600m/8,500ft, hidden in the green cloud forest. Along the way, we will stop for the box lunch.
After lunch, continue for about 1 hour to reach the Sun Gate and take in your first breathtaking view of Machu Picchu Citadel. Take a moment to soak in the scenery and capture unforgettable photos.
Once you reach Machu Picchu, we will enter the citadel through Circuit 1. Along the route, you will have time to admire the breathtaking scenery and take more photos from the upper viewing platforms, including the famous Guardian’s House, where you can capture the iconic postcard view of Machu Picchu.
In the afternoon, take the bus to Aguas Calientes, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant, and spend the night in a comfortable hotel, ready for your guided visit to Machu Picchu the following morning.
Day 3 Aguas Calientes I Machu Picchu – Cusco
After your breakfast at the hotel, we will board one of the first buses and arrive at Machu Picchu early in the morning and begin a guided tour of the site through circuit 3, which takes about 2 hours. we will explore the Magical Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu with our experienced tour guide who will show you the main sights, terraces, temples, farming terraces, and all the most important sites.
Once the guided tour is over, you will have free time to take the best photos of the citadel. In the afternoon, you will return to Aguas Calientes for lunch and take the train and bus back to Cusco, arriving at your hotel around 8:00 p.m.
*The combination of these circuits (Route 1-C and Route 3-B) will provide you with a complete Machu Picchu experience.
