Itinerary
Day 1 (June 21) Arrival to Cusco – City Tour
Reception and transfer to your selected hotel. Arriving at the Hotel and free time to relax or get acclimate to the altitude.
In the afternoon, the City Tour begins with a guided visit through Cusco’s most important sites: the historic Cusco Cathedral, the ancient Inca temple
Qorikancha and the nearby ruins surrounding the city, including the impressive fortress of Sacsayhuamán, the ceremonial center of Q’enqo, the military checkpoint Puka Pukara, and the water temple of Tambomachay.
Day 2 (June 22) Cusco - Sacred Valley - Ollantaytambo - Aguas Calientes
Excursion to the sacred valley of the Incas, Pisac ruins and market town of Pisac. Lunch in Urubamba. After your lunch we will head to Ollantaytambo, the best-preserved Inca town with remarkable Inca urban planning, water channels and its stone streets.
In the afternoon you will board the train to Aguas Calientes town and spend the night in a hotel.
Day 3 (June 23) Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu - Cusco
Board the first buses to Machu Picchu. Enjoy the fantastic panoramic views of Machu Picchu and then, explore all the most important places of the Inca citadel and free time for photographs in Machu Picchu.
At the end of the tour, you will board the bus back to the town of Aguas Calientes, where you can enjoy a delicious lunch in the restaurant of your choice. Later in the afternoon, you will return by train and bus to Cusco.
Day 4 (June 24) Inti Raymi Tour
The colorful celebration of INTI RAYMI, or the “festival of the sun,” is the most significant God of Andean religion in the Inca Empire, dedicated to the Sun God, INTI and celebrated every June 24th in the city of Cusco, Peru. The ceremony of INTI RAYMI has three different places, starting at the QoriKancha temple, then to the Plaza de Armas, and the Main and final ceremony in the temple fortress of Sacsayhuaman.
Day 5 (June 25) Cusco – Lima
Free morning for shopping, visit to the central market or some Cusco Museums in the historic center.
At the appropriate time transfer to the Cusco airport.
