Itinerary
Day 1 Ollantaytambo – Pisac – Ollantaytambo - Aguas Calientes
We will pick you up from your hotel at 9:00 a.m. and drive through the breathtaking Sacred Valley toward the town of Pisac.
Upon arrival, we will visit the Pisac Archaeological Site (3,440 m / 11,286 ft), located high above the town and offering stunning views of the surrounding valley. Here, you will explore impressive agricultural terraces, ancient tombs built into steep hillsides, temples, and aqueducts.
Next, we will descend to the town of Pisac to visit its colorful local handicraft market (optional). Afterward, we will return to Urubamba, where we will enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant.
After lunch, we will drive to Ollantaytambo to visit its impressive archaeological complex, a former military, religious, and agricultural center, as well as its picturesque town, which still preserves its original Inca streets.
In the afternoon, we will transfer you to the train station in Ollantaytambo, where you will board the train to Aguas Calientes (2,040 m / 6,693 ft). Upon arrival, you will check in to your hotel and spend the night there.
Day 2 Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Ollantaytambo
Early in the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel in Aguas Calientes and take one of the first buses up to Machu Picchu (2,430 m / 7,972 ft), allowing you to enjoy the archaeological site before the crowds arrive.
Upon arrival, you will enjoy a guided tour of the citadel’s main attractions, including its houses, temples, plazas, and agricultural terraces. The guided visit lasts approximately two and a half hours, followed by free time to explore the site at your own pace, subject to your entrance ticket and authorized circuit.
Our first choice is Circuit 2 whenever available, as it offers one of the most comprehensive experiences at Machu Picchu. If Circuit 2 is sold out for your selected date and time, we will secure the best available alternative, usually Circuit 1 or Circuit 3, depending on availability.
After your visit, you will take the bus back to Aguas Calientes, where you will have free time to enjoy lunch at one of the town’s many restaurants.
Later, you will board the train back to Ollantaytambo. Upon arrival at the train station, you will take a short walk to your hotel in the town of Ollantaytambo.
Day 3 Ollantaytambo – Maras Moray – Chinchero – Cusco
After breakfast, we will meet you at your hotel reception at 8:00 a.m. and begin our journey through the town of Maras, known for its interesting blend of Inca heritage and colonial influences.
Next, we will visit Moray, an impressive agricultural experimental center used by the Incas. We will then continue to the Maras Salt Mines (3,000 m / 9,843 ft), where local families have maintained traditional salt-harvesting techniques dating back to pre-Inca times.
After our guided visits to Moray and the Maras Salt Mines, we will continue to Chinchero (3,762 m / 12,343 ft). We will explore this picturesque town, famous for its ancestral textile traditions, and visit a local weaving center to learn about traditional Andean techniques.
Finally, we will travel to Cusco (3,400 m / 11,155 ft), where we will drop you off at your hotel at approximately 2:30 p.m.
