Itinerary
Day 1 Rainbow Mountain Trek – Full Day
We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco at 4:30 a.m. to head towards the southern valley of Cusco to the village of Cusipata.After a two-hour drive, we will stop and have a delicious breakfast. Then, we will continue our journey for another hour to the trailhead at LLaqto village (4,630 m /15,190 ft). From there we will start the hike uphill to Rainbow Mountain. Along the way, you will enjoy amazing views of the Andes mountains, glacial peaks, rocky hills, and traditional llamas and alpacas grazing along the valley.After two hours of hiking, we will reach the amazing Rainbow Mountain of Cusco (5,100m /16,732 ft). Once you arrive at the top of the mountain, you will have plenty of time to admire this impressive mineral formation, a unique natural site in this area. You will also see amazing views of Ausangate Glacier Peak in front of you.We will spend about 30 minutes and a little more. There will be plenty of time to explore the area and admire this spectacular Mountain set top between other colorful hills. Thenwe will begin our descent about 1 hour and half, downhill hike to reach the starting point of the trek. After the hike, we will board our transport to Cusipata for a buffet lunch. Then, we will begin our return trip to Cusco, arriving at your hotel around 4:00 pm.
