The colorful celebration of INTI RAYMI, or the “festival of the sun,” have been one of the most important rituals in the Inca Empire. A religious ceremony to the Sun God, INTI. The most significant God of Andean religion and the INTI RAYMI takes place annually every June 24th in the city of Cusco, Peru. The ceremony of INTI RAYMI has three different places, starting at the koricancha, or sun temple, then to the Plaza de Armas, and the Main and final ceremony in the temple fortress of Sacsayhuaman.
