For those trekkers who are looking for a little more adventure !This amazing Trek starts in the área around the Salkantay Mountain ,one of the highest  peak and most stunning  in the Peruvian Andes and having views of the beautiful  landscapes  through different ecological areas . For the 3 days you will passes ecological zones , glacier peaks , you will descend down through subtropical forest and  on the 4 day  you join up with the inca Trail to  arrive the Machu Picchu Historical Sanctuary.

Itinerary

Day 1: Cusco – Mollepata – Soraypampa – Humantay Lake – Salkantay Pampa

We will pick you up from your hotel early in the morning and have a beautiful scenic drive of 2 hours to Mollepata town (2,900 m / 9,514 ft), where we will enjoy a brief stop for breakfast at a local restaurant. We will then continue driving for one more hour to Soraypampa (3.880 m / 12,726 ft), the trailhead for the Salkantay trek, and where we will meet the horsemen and the rest of the crew, as well as do a last equipment check. From Soraypampa we will start the hike up to the spectacular turquoise water Humantay Lake (4,200 m– 13,779 ft). which will take about 4 hours round - trip. After enjoying the beauty and taking pictures, we will hike back down to Soraypampa and then continue the hike up to reach the first campsite at Salkantaypampa. There, we will have the rest of the afternoon free to relax and prepare for the next day. Hiking Distance: 8 km / 4.97 miles Highest Elevation: 4,200 m /13,779 ft. Hiking Hours: 5 to 6 hours. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Accommodations: Tents.

Day 2: Salkantay Pampa – Salkantay Lake – Pampa Japonesa.

Early in the morning , We will wake you up with a hot cup of Coca tea and then breakfast to start our second day. Our journey will begin with flat terrain for about 10 minutes before transitioning into a challenging uphill climb. This segment of the trail is steep and demanding, so we will proceed at a comfortable pace since our destination is only 4 hours away. Along the hike, we will be surrounded by natural landscapes and we will have the best views of the snow -capped. Upon reaching our campsite, known as Pampa Japonesa (4,740 m /15,551 ft), where we will spend the night, we will enjoy our lunch before embarking on an afternoon exploration of Salkantay Lake (4,790 m / 15 715 ft) , which typically takes 2 to 3 hours. This will bring us near the Salkantay glacier. Following our lake excursion, we will return to the campsite. Pampa Japonesa offers an incredible vantage point to soak in the beauty of the Soraypampa Valley, providing ample opportunities for breathtaking photos of the Salkantay glacier. The sunset view from here is truly stunning. As night falls, we will appreciate the starry sky before settling in for dinner. Hiking Distance: 6 km / 3.72 miles Highest Elevation: 4,790 m /15,715 ft. Hiking Hours: 6 to 7 hours. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Accommodations: Tents.

Day 3: Pampajaponesa – Inca Chiriasca Pass – Yana Ccaca – Inca Canal.

Today, we will slowly ascend on a two-hour uphill hike to reach the Incachiriaska Pass (5,100 / 16,732 ft), also known as the Frozen Inca Pass, the highest point of our trek. Upon reaching the summit, we will have the option to either take a 30-minute hike closer to the glacier or descend to our lunch spot. The scenery today is once again breathtaking. As we ascend over the shoulder of Salkantay, we are humbled by the towering presence of the mountain, gaining insight into why the Incas revered it as a deity. After reaching the Pass, we will enjoy a three-hour downhill trek to our lunch spot, YanaCcaca. Where, we can relax a bit before continuing with the hike. We will descend towards our campsite at the Inca Canal through beautiful valleys and a section of the Inca trail that connects to different archaeological sites in the area . Hiking Distance: 15 km / 9.32 miles Highest Elevation: 5,100 m / 16, 732 ft. Hiking Hours: 7 to 8 hours. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Accommodations: Tents.

Day 4: Canal Inca – Paucar Cancha – Wayllabamba – Ayapata.

We will enjoy an energetic breakfast and start with a 3-hour downhill trek to the Incan ruins of Paucar Cancha (3,143 m / 10,410 ft), a beautiful archeological complex . Here we will switch from using horses to carry our gear to porters – this is to prevent damage to the Inca Trail. Following lunch, we will have the pleasure of meeting our porters, who have trekked all the way from km 82, the starting point for those embarking on the 4-day Inca Trail hike. At the same time, we will say bye-bye to our horsemen. After a brief stop at the checkpoint to present our passports and Inca Trail permits, we will embark on a one-hour hike to Wayllabamba. From there, we will continue our journey to the Ayapata Campsite, where we will settle in for the night. Hiking Distance: 11 km / 6.83 miles Highest Elevation: 3,900 m / 12, 795 ft. Hiking Hours: 6 to 7 hours. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Accommodations: Tents.

Day 5: Ayapata – Dead Woman Pass – Pacaymayo – Runku Rakay Pass – Sayacmarca -Chaquicoch

Today is a tough day because we have two passes to cross. After our breakfast, we hiked for about 4 hours ascent to the Dead woman’s Pass ( 4,200 m / 13,779 ft), the highest part of the Inca Trail, where you will have some time to relax and enjoy the views around the glistening glaciers. At the summit, we will witness the changing landscapes and capture photos of both valleys before descending to Pacaymayo valley , where lunch is served . After lunch , we will ascend for another 45 minutes to the Runkurakay Pass ( 3,950 m / 12,959 ft), stopping along the way to visit the Inca Site of Runku Raqay with detailed explanations from our guide. As we continue, we will observe a dramatic shift in landscape from the highlands to the rainforest. After reaching the Pass, we will descend for about an hour to the Sayacmarca Inca Site, where our guide will lead us in exploration. Finally, we will make our way to our campsite in Chaquicocha (3600m / 11800ft),where we will enjoy dinner and spend the night. Hiking Distance: 16 km / 9.94 miles Highest Elevation: 4,200 m / 13, 779 ft. Hiking Hours: 8 to 9 hours. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Accommodations: Tents.

Day 6: Chaquicocha – Phuyupatamarca – Intipata -Winay Wayna.

After crossing the two passes yesterday, today we will enjoy a leisurely day amidst some of the most stunning landscapes along the Inca Trail. We willbegin with a relatively short trek , mostly downhill until we reach the Inca complex Phuyupatamarca ( 3,660 m / 12,007 ft ). Along the way, we will soak in the lush greenery of the cloud forest surrounding us and admire the breathtaking views of the distant Andes. After visiting Phuyupatamarca, we will descend for about three hours to the IntiPata Inca Site ( 2,800 m/ 9186 ft ), where we will have an incredible view of the Urubamba River. Following our exploration of this site, we will hike to our lunch spot and Campsite in Winay Wayna ( 2,650 m / 8,694 ft ). After Lunch, we will have the opportunity to take a shower and relax , then set out to explore the Wiñaywayna Inca ruins. Finally, we will enjoy the day with dinner and an early bedtime, preparing ourselves for the most amazing day ahead. Hiking Distance: 9 km / 5.59 miles Highest Elevation: 3,660 m / 12,007 ft. Hiking Hours: 3 to 4 hours. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Accommodations: Tents.

Day 7: Winay Wayna – Sun Gate – Machu Picchu – Aguas Calientes – Cusco

Today is the most important day, we will visit Machu Picchu, one of the New Wonders of the World. We will wake up early and having our breakfast, then we will begin the final leg of the Salkantay Inca Trail 7 days to the lost city of Machu Picchu. After about an hour of hiking, we will arrive at the Sun Gate (Inti Punku ). From there , we will get the first and most amazing panoramic view of Machu Picchu. Then, we will hike a gentle one hour descent down to the Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu ( 2,430 m/ 7,972 ft) Once inside the archaeological site, we will head to the upper terraces of Machu Picchu , where we can take the classical postcard photo. , we will enjoy a 2 hour guided tour of the most important places of the Citadel. After the visit, we will take the bus down to Aguas Calientes , where we will enjoy lunch. Then you will take the train to Ollantaytambo , where our private transportation will be waiting for you to bring you back to your hotel in Cusco. Hiking Distance: 6 km / 3.7 miles Highest Elevation: 2,720 m / 8,605 ft. Hiking Hours: 3 to 4 hours. Meals: Breakfast Accommodations: Tents.
